3rd party SMS applications, suggestions?

Waiting on my iPhone 6+ . Coming from Android and I have some questions.

Is there 3rd party apps for SMS or do you have to use the stock one?

And if there is, which ones do you guys use and what do you like about them.

There are a few third party SMS apps but we find the Native iMessage app to be the only one you will ever need and with the new iOS 8 features in iMessage you will find it to meet or exceed your texting needs

Stock messages app is great and all you need. It's not buggy and crappy like Android.

iMessage is great! And the Messages app doubles as SMS as well. iOS 8 has added some nice new features to the Messages app. You won't need a 3rd party SMS app. I use the stock iMessage and Facebook Messenger for all my texting needs.
