I have a Mac from 2011 the default(dual core i5, upgraded to 8GB RAM, 500GB HDD) and its lost from 100% to 82% maximum charge capacity. Is there any way to boos the capacity a bit?

I don't think there is. Mine is a mid 2009 model and its at about 50% capacity. I don't know of anything to restore capacity. The only thing I know would be reducing brightness and limiting processes to make your battery life longer.

I'm due for an upgrade in 1 or 2 years anyway lets hope it can last a full school day!

Cutting the brightness down to half or less, turning the keyboard backlight off, and limiting the number of running apps to 2-3 at a time can easily add 30 minutes to an hour to your battery life.
