I hope the new iphone has a 64 GB option because I have 37 GBs of music. If I were you op, I would at least get the 32 GB. I have only a few songs on my iphone, apps, and photos and i'm a little more then half my space right now.

i say 32GB cuz I sure hate the fact that Apple files take like 1/4 of the total memory

The firmware is only 250mb. Formatted space is different from advertised/listed capacity. 16GB =\= exactly 16 GigaBytes. It's not the same thing.
