So i was wondering how much memory i should get on my phone. is it really work an extra $100 for double the memory? Is it a waste of money cause you dont need that much memory or is it worth the 100$ for all that memory. Lets hear stories from both sides and their reasons.

B.T.W. i did a search and couldnt find this anywhere

I got the 16gb and have 6.5 left with the following loaded:

928 songs; 4 videos; 171 pics and 60 apps.

I'm by no means a "power user" so hope that gives you a general idea.

If you are going have a bunch of apps, or you don't have an iPod for your music/podcast needs, you need the extra space. I run out of space for my music and podcasts. Video podcasts take up a lot of space. I'm trying to get rid of apps I don't use often enough.

Given that the cost of the device is minimal compared to the contract outlay I would (and did) go with the 32gb model. Would rather have it and not need it than vice versa.

Bought the 32 gb model and have already filled 20gb with music and apps etc. It was not an option for me, I had a 64 gb iPod touch and had it filled too, wishing they offered a 64 gb iPhone. I looked at it in the respect that if I had bought a different phone, a 32 gb sd card costs $100 anyway, so I went with the 32 gb model.

I'm a movie lover. A movie file converted for the iPhone 3GS usually are between 700mb and 1GB. I also love music. I have more than 22GB of songs in my iPhone right now and more than 4GB of pictures...

If you're into having a lot of media on your computer and want it on your phone then 32GB is the way to go. I'm waiting for apple to make a 64GB iPhone....

32 vote here. Unless you want to keep syncing with iTunes to add and remove files. Had that experience on the 3GS and went with the big one on the 4

+1 for the 32. Both the wife and I chose the 32GB model just in case. Also resale value was a factor.

I have the 16gb and its good for me at the moment but i think 32gb would be better in the long run due to resale value. When the iPhone 5 comes out I'll be sure to get the 32gb model.

Now alot of you guys are talking about re-sale value, but honestly, i wont be able to sell mine untill another 20 months when my contract goes up.

32gig is the way to go. I have 1000 songs, 1500 pics, several videos, and at least 300 apps. I've used about 16 gigs. I haven't even put my movies on it yet.

I'm another person wishing for a 64 gig model!!

Definitely get the 32, I'm glad I did or I'd have a full phone I'd have to delete stuff out of all the time

I planned to get a 16gb to save some cash but my wife and mother (knowing the techy that I am) talked me into the extra $100.

I must say: BEST DECISION EVER

I've already filled 16gb with just music, pics, and apps. It's well worth the extra $100, even if you aren't looking at resale value.

I have to play the "iTunes Dance" on my 16gb iPad which makes me really appreciate the fact that my phone NEVER has that problem.

Now to figure out how to use AirView to stream videos from my iPhone to my iPad....

I had this war with myself as well and we got 32's. I decided even if we never use all of that, that if I resell these when the 5 comes out that it will sell better

I kick myself at least once a week for not getting the 32GB. I'm constantly running out of space. As apps become more advanced, they get larger and larger in file size. When I got my 3G, I was fine with 16GB, but now it's not nearly enough.
