Switching 2 numbers from AT&T to Verizon

I posted this in the iP5 forum too but realized I might get more responses here:

Buying 2 iPhone 5 and moving from AT&T to Verizon. Since I'm buying two and moving to one plan am I better off going through Verizon or can I go through Apple?

I have read that Apple allows one phone at a time though maybe since I'm essentially doing 2 new phones vs upgrade it won't matter?

I wen through VZW mainly because the Apple site was still down when preorders went live on Verizon's site.

Same here VerizonWireless was live before Apple and I went through them.

I ended up going through VZW because I got up at 430 EST and Apple was already at 2 weeks. VZW was 9/21.
