I got a sim from ptel ( runs on tmobile towers )

    Very cheap pre paid service

Works great except for some reason I can not get LTE
    Only 3G ..

    It's on a tmobile 5c unlocked

I am in excellent coverage area and everything I can find from specs on bands and ptel says I should get LTE ..

I emailed CS waiting in reply but just curious if anyone has seen or delt with this..
5c is on latest OS and I'm settings carrier only a 3G toggle is present no LTE

Some services don't offer the faster data speed and lock you down to 3G

Have you reset the APNs for use on that carrier?

    Ya Apn is correct ..
I found out the carrier only supports LTE on iPhone 5 for some reason not 5c or 5s even thou the phone supports the same bands they use

    My phone
    Model A1532 (GSM)*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 13, 17, 19, 20, 25)
    GSM model A1428*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 4 and 17)
Ok so model a1428 is a iPhone 5 gsm model phone
Your saying ptel LTE does not work on any newer phone
    Than a iPhone 5 ?

Also if you look at the specs my phone supports all bands
As the a1428 and more but still can not pick up LTE signal ?

Is this a ptel system issue ? Because I don't see how it could be
A hardware issue showing that my phone is more than capable.

    Thanks
    Robert

    Hello Robert,

To make sure the device is compatible, we would need to know the following:
Model A1428 (any other model will NOT work)
    AWS Band 1700/2100

To check if the bands are supported, the serial number will need to end with any of the four digits combinations.

    Settings > General > About

    FH19
    FH1C
    FH1D
    FH1F
    FH1G
    FH1H

The reason why the iPhone 5C is not compatible is because there is no current model type to allow the LTE service on PTEL network.
