Has anyone else received a Carrier Update prompt to update to 15.6? I connected my iPhone 5which I use on T-Mobile to iTunes and I received a prompt to update my Carrier Settings. I did the update and now my phone shows 15.6. Any clue on what changes were made in this update?

I got this too. There are no release notes on T-Mobile's website and it's still showing 15.5 as the most current.

I got the update, too. Summoned T-Mobile customer service, and they say they don't known either; should in a few days.

Was that necessary? I thought he provided the proper reply? ... By the way welcome to iMore!

I believe that Keith posted that, thinking that the OP was asking how to update, but the OP was asking what the update was for.

Regardless, Rhodri#WN's reply wasn't necessary, at all.

The text of the linked Apple support page contains a description of what the carrier settings file is, which is exactly what the OP asked.
