After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
I had the same problem: 100% off the charger, powered it OFF, and 50% the next day. Apple said it was bad and replaced it. The second one does not have that problem. I suggest you go to the Genuis Bar and try to have it replaced. BTW my iPhone passed their 'diagnostics,' but the Genius Tech...
Grrrr...my upgrade date says 5/31/2011.
On a lighter note, I clicked on the banner ad for iphone trade ins and they are willing to give me $304 for mine. I wonder if I could do better on eBay....
I do know the difference between JB and unlock. I, of course, need both. Oh well, it looks like I need to buy an unlocked phone for the trip (assuming I get the position).
There seem to be conflicting posts about this. The sticky says you can't, yet Spirit JB is mentioned as saying you can. Which is correct?
I may be taking a 3-month contract job in Germany and AT&T's rates are INSANE ($5.99/month extra AND .99/min). Obviously an unlocked iPhone would save me...
I know many luck 3Gs owners will say that you never used them and have no scratches. I was not so lucky as I had the coating on 2 3Gs' scratch. I now use the ZAGG IS, which I hate, but I hate scratches more.
Anyway, what do you think of this news, assuming that it's true?
The question is if you have scratches or not. If you don't want a screen protector, great. Please don't ressurect an old thread without addressing the actual topic of the thread.
I agree naked is the way to go, but the first time the coating on your 3Gs screen gets a nick (and it will), you...
I am on the fence, as I am a VZW customer, on buying an iPhone 3Gs, but with the January rumors I wonder if a new iPhone will be announced. My gut instinct says no. What do you say? Buy now or wait?
I am considering buying the 3GS again (looooonnnggg story). But my previous ones (2 of them) both scratched being used VERY gently. I will not go without a screen protector again.
I had it about two weeks. In my front pocket by itself (no keys,etc.).
Yes, it scratched after less than 1 week. The phone was treated very gently and barely used during that time. Luckily, the scratch is near the bottom (the black part of the phone).
This post increases my hesitation to buy an iPhone. I am already leary of AT&T's not-so-great network and not sure if I am ready to leave VZW just for the iPhone.
The service isn't as good? Where are you located.
I get a corporate discount with either company. VZW discount is better, but their phones aren't as exciting.
First off, I am an VZW, so that gives me a reason to hold off.
I love the look and feel of the phone, but at $199, its a little more than I can justify spending and since the Bing cashback deal doesn't work, that doesn't help my decision.
Yes, I know I could get a $99 iPhone, but if I am going...
