After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
There's about 5MB left on my monthly usage.. But, if I 'hit the bottom' for another fix.. do I pay 30days worth for only 4 days service?
I assume if I only opened pure emails.. I could muddle thru.. maybe?! Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Search posting history and see if you can find any of my posts.. I did f'ing everything to get a signal in the woods about 5mi from a tower. Too exhausting to regurgitate, but we 'finally' have internet access at home where Verizon (local monopoly) could not even give us DSL.
Antenna ...
im, Understand clearly what you are attempting to blow off; a form of legalized theft. "They have been able to steal since the 80's.. What's so bad about that?!"
Verizon is permitted by Washington, and State regulators, to add fees to your bill - never having to verify the validity of the...
I had four accounts with Verizon. Two hardwires, a cel and DSL. They are history. I do not care if they are the local monopoly, have 3% better coverage, etc .. I simply will not deal with a company that steals from me.
I never paid much notice, 'till one day I saw a note on my business...
How do you get that to work? I just got the phone a few days ago and when I text (I assume you do that in Messages) "Yes" to 11113020 ... the reply is that 'this is not a 10 digit phone #' ...yet, tons of other people seem to get it to work?! Maybe I am missing a step...

It one of the reasons I got rid of our V landline at home. 90% of the calls were solicitations. ...even tho' we were on the 'no call' list from about an hour after they offered it. Treat your phone # like your Social Security number.

So far - so good.. He went to ATT and got his account switched to another phone. I went to ATT and got a new SIM and new number.
Since I have an iPad (and Macs for 20yrs..) I already had iTunes. Yet, there's still apps on the phone left over (Poker, Pandora..etc.) that I will not use ...but...
Does the prior owner need to cancel his account, or do I simply re-sync the phone with my account? I am waiting for my ATT rep to tell me to head over to the store for a new sim card.

When the first posting is a rant - there should be a B.S. flag flying. If I ran Verizon, as I think they do, I'd have my customer service people, posting everywhere .. while their existing customers are on hold.

Jes: I still have my Mac Classic II from the late '80s. .. running four active Macs at the moment. One of the best places I go when I have an issue is Apple, Macintosh, iPad, iPod and iPhone news | MacNN ...like here, look at the menu bar for 'forums'. Do not be shy about asking anything...
It's funny how there is a different reality for different people. I am in the middle of Rural Verizon Country. They have been the exclusive local service provider forever. They could give a flat s___t about their customers or service. Not only can I not get DSL at my home, my wire-voice line...
Sting: I do that back/forth with Dish & Direct every two years. I actually switched from Comcast (internet only) to a Verizon DSL package deal when Comcast was over. Verizon's DSL does not work with a Mac worth a damn! They finally sent me a wireless modem that helps a little, but my up/dn...
You both make sense... Sting, I'll think I'll accept the subsidy. I hate these long contracts, they feel like death sentences. I just got sentenced to Death by Comcast to get rid of Verizon, but they buy off the politicians, so they do not have to compete in the market. A least in the...
I was considering buying an unbroken 3GS or i4 ..to wait out the i5 ...but the prices seem really high? My biz rep for ATT says get a non-contract phone and then a 'contract' i5 when released. (I have lived with the snakes at Verizon tooooo long. I am cutting two landlines)
Yet, when I look...
... Ahhhh. I had not heard of the 'upgrade credit'. Dumbazz here does not want to walk into a $200 up-charge after buying a $50 phone .. when the i4 is only $199 to begin with?! I'll probably call my biz rep and see if he can put anything on paper. Thanks.

I am new. I have had an iPad since two weeks after they came out, but have been using pre-paid cel phones. I am eliminating both my Verizon hardwire accounts. One will use Comcast for both internet and landline. ..the second will use an iPhone. (I am not going to Verizon for cellular...)...
.... you can use it on the iPad .. I have a number of Phone apps (Skobbler is another Nav app - Free) that show up phone-sized, but still functional. You can even make them larger, but the resolution is yeech.

Spidey .. I was thinking -- unlike the various GPS units I have, the iPhone will...
.. data? We have had an iPad since about May that we use at home as "internet access" because we cannot get cable or DSL out in our part of the Weeds. We use a repeater that captures a signal from about 6mi away, but, of course, the iPad is all data. So now I want to reward Verizon for their...
