After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
Well, I have the issue. And there's also a thread on the Apple forum as well. After 7 months the paint chipped off close to the left speaker. A few days later it started also on the right side. Talked to Apple support but they say it's cosmetic so no warranty. Which is still strange for such an...
Thanks for sharing!
Good to see Apple promotes the cool stuff their iPhones are able to.
It would be nice if they also give more attention to capturing and editing RAW. I tested some RAW-photography during my last trip and the pictures are just great!
Depends on your needs. If you just want to make phone calls, check your email, browse internet etc I would go for the iPhone7. If you use your phone a lot you might want to go for the bigger iPhone 7 plus screen and better battery.
If you want to use your phone for photography and editing...
Well, since you're using ProCamera I would suggest you use that app. Go to the 'edit' settings and play with 'curves'. I think it'll give you similar outcome. You can also use Enlight as well.
Attached two screenshots. One is from ProCamera, the other one from Enlight.
Hope this helps.
Hi Ledsteplin,
You should think there must be something ;-)
Can you give a bit more information what you want like:
- do you want a button who gives the result you want
- or remove it with a mask layer
- or anything else?
I'm not familiar with Color Manager, so I don't know what that app...
I must say I bought the iPhone 7 plus because it has the feature. Although I'm not using it often I think it's still added value for me. On my current travels I only take pictures with my iPhone, no DSLR of Micro Four Thirds for me now.
Yes, 2x zoom isn't much, but sometimes it's just enough to...
Same for me, most pictures (around 50 per month) with the wide angle lens, DoF not so much but I use the 2x zoom a lot. Especially when I have to keep my distance from the subject.
For sure, the biggest step forward for me is not having to take my bulky DSLR, flashes and lenses with me. The iPhone 7+ has great benefits and takes stunning images. The only thing missing is taking high-speed pictures or when there's really low-light.
And of course the MacBook Air is such a...
Hey all, sorry for the late reply.
I'm traveling at the moment so I quickly posted one image so you'd asked for. WiFi isn't available anytime now.
Here are two more pictures. All three images are taken with the Moment Wide lens while using ProCamera, which also is used for editing.
I know what you mean. A few years ago I went to Peru and did a 4-day hike to Machu Picchu with a DSLR, lenses, flashes, etc. After that trip I bought a micro four thirds camera. Way smaller, changeable lenses, etc. Super compact but still a lot to carry.
Now I use my iPhone 7plus. I must say I...
For photography there are a few rules:
- don't use digital zoom
- try different angles
- get up early or stay up late for the best light
- take many, many pictures
I hardly use the native iPhone camera for my pictures, simply because the pictures turn out, well... ok.
For better pictures and...
Just keep in mind RAW files are way bigger if you look at mb size. And with RAW files you definitely need to post process all your images.
What I do (but it doesn't mean you have to do it as well :) ) is shoot most images in JPG format. Only when I see something special I use RAW.
For me it's...
I found this on the forum:

But I think using airdrop will work as well. Just be sure if you export from a third-party app the settings for export are not set to jpg or so
