After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
I have been doing this for years, but with an iPhone 5s. My wife does the same with a 6+.
In both cases the phones charge faster and there appears to be no problems.
Thankyou.
I just set my iCloud preferences as recommended.
Previously I had made a Mail rule to block the email address of the sender causing the calendar entry, however iCloud preferences change seems more comprehensive.
I purchased a refurbished 1.1Ghz MacBook a few weeks ago.I am impressed with the size and weight, but since performance wasn't a requirement (else I would have got a MBP), I can only say that it is about twice as fast as my old 2010 MacBook, which was fast enough for me.
I thought that the...
I decided that I was due a new mac about a month ago. I don't know why since my white 2010 MacBook was doing everything I was asking of it.
The MBPs were looking good, but I knew that I could only use a small portion of their capability. Cost wasn't a big issue, but weight and size were. Hence...
Had the beta on my MacBook 2010 and everything seemed to work. I didn't know that there were a few functions that my older Mac couldn't do until I read Rene's latest article.
I hope the new Macs come next month. If they are good enough, I might even buy one.
I got mine 5 years ago, new. I too found it fantastic and wondered why it had taken me so long to make the switch.
Now I am wondering if I should make the switch to a MacBook air. Perhaps I will when they have retina.
I hope you get as much enjoyment with your MacBook as I have had with mine.
Thanks for that. I have been trying everything to get the Continuity thing working between my iPhone 4S, iPad (4th gen) and Macbook 2010.
At first I thought it was the Macbook - a good an excuse to trade Old Faithful in on a new Macbook Air. Now it seems I need a new iPhone too. You just have...
Re: Text Interpreter
Thanks for the info. I am working through your recommendations. So far I have downloaded Flight Track Pro and WiFi Finder and both look good.
Now I have to go on a trip to try them (at least that is my excuse).
Interesting. Here in Sydney Australia, if cellular is off the only data coverage is wifi hotspots (home and freebie).
Usually depends on our plan as to having cellular on or off (I think we have a lot more choice of carriers and plans here).
On my iPhone 4s, I have Apple maps, NavFree and now Google maps. Of the 3 Google seems to work better in my area (Sydney northern beaches), provided there is cellular coverage. (Navfree is for when there is no coverage.)
Initially I thought Google had no voice turn-by-turn guidance, but it...
I use keychain. I looked into 1Password, but the idea of losing direct control over password generation and storage horrified me.The places where I use most of my passwords seem to stuff them up even when they are correct. Then there is the confusion of Google IMAP dual password requirement...
Hi,
Attached is my home screen.

This is the 2nd page. The 1st page was mostly how it came originally, plus the Amaysim app and a Navigation folder containing Apple maps, Google maps and Navfree (just there to try out, mostly I use a Tom Tom).
I don't use Newsstand and...
