After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
Flux is completely automatic - it detects location (or you enter it manually) and then it engages and disengages at proper times. You can even set the length of the transition between fluxed and non-fluxed display.
Re: Background app refresh.
Example - with BAR enabled, apps like Pocket can get the content you added before you actually open the app. When disabled, all that content gets downloaded only when you launch the app, which can be problematic with slow or capped mobile data.
Of course you can download PDFs. In iOS 10, you can save PDF directly to iCloud Drive or any other app that can work with PDFs. Try the free Documents app by Readdle.
Just tap a PDF file in Safari, wait for it to download and then you'll have a "More..." button in upper left corner. Select...

Trim is very important. My Samsung 840 does 480/240 mBps (sequential read/write) with TRIM but only ~120/80 without it. Multiple benchmarks over three years, same results.

You guys realize that "works well" is completely different for everyone, right?
What's Ok for someone is unacceptable for others. Everyone has different usage scenarios, apps, hardware, and most of all, perception.
Bickering about what runs fine for whom is completely pointless.
Dual displays confusion. Apps reset their positions between displays and between Spaces all the time. Even Apples own SW like FCPX - windows on sedondary display gets routinely lost.

Absolutely the same here. No crashes/reboots on iPhone 5, many with iPad air. Both on 7.0.4. Tons of Low memory warnings on Air, zero on i5.
