After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
So, what happened to 17.1? Everyone speculated it would come yesterday, but today there's still total silence about a release. No rumors why this was false information and when 17.1 is really coming?
Have you read my whole message? ;) In iTunes, I cannot see the version numbers, but only that the app can be updated:
Since today, the version numbers are back:
Hi there,
I haven't found other clarifications about this, so I'm asking here. Since some days, the App update listing in my iTunes is missing version numbers. On my iPhone 6, they are still shown. Has there been any update to the App store I'm missing?

Nico
Just curious: what is the real use case for this? I respect the need of customizing everything to the tiniest bits (like changing the Androids main font to Comic Sans), but is there really a undenyable argument for implementing it?
For me, it helped to have a look at the notifications settings in the Settings app. Without changing anything there, just through reviewing the existing settings, notifications surprisingly started to work again
Interestingly, neither navigating through Google Maps nor playing Ingress drowns my battery as much as Pokemon Go, and GPS usage should be comparable :(
See Is Apple using ?slower? flash storage on the iPhone 7? Probably not? | Pocketnow for an explanation: a larger storage uses more NAND chips and you can access them in parallel.
Just for the completeness: you can find a test at iPhone 7 storage speed: 32GB vs. 128GB NAND speed comparison | BGR, and differences like 25% less throughput in reading and nearly 90% less write speed is something I would not call "noticable". Running games might just be one of the spare use...
Okay, so the app won't do any deletion, that's okay. But why won't iTunes delete episodes that it does not keep itself any longer? I have seen episodes on my iPhone that are no longer on my PC, and thus they should get removed on the next sync... Will it help to subscribe to each podcast on my...
Hi there,
I'm a bit annoyed about the Podcast app by Apple itself. I regularly sync my iPhone 4S with iTunes 11, and even as iTunes deletes my played podcast episodes and this option is set on my iPhone (in settings: keep unplayed episodes), not a single played episode is ever removed...
Okay, let's split it up into two problems once more. Please don't argue against syncing my iPhone with iTunes, as this is only a workaround, but no solution to my problem.
1) Syncing apps
With iTunes 10, I could either update my apps on the iPhone or in iTunes and they were synced across both...
Hi there,
iTunes 11 looks very nice, but I've got a couple of problems with this version I've not encountered in iTunes 10. First problem: if I update an app on my iPhone 4S, it is not synced back to iTunes - this has been the case before, such that I can either update on my laptop OR on my...
