How many of you use touch ID for phone unlocking?

This is easily gotten around though and I think you're being overly paranoid. For instance you don't have to register all your fingers and if you try more than a few times it locks you out. On my phone I just use my thumbs for TouchID, so if I were stopped by the police I would just use the...

How many of you use touch ID for phone unlocking?

re: "That's arguably due to excessive oils/grease, etcetera on the finger. Simply clean the finger and the home button and Voila!" More often t's just ordinary sweat. Even a slightly sweaty finger completely stymies TouchID so if you live in a hot area that can be maddening. Also, the phone...

    Who is going naked?

I've never used a case, ever. Based on anecdotal evidence (seeing who is around me using iPhones and working for years to help people use/repair them), I'd say about 30-40% actually don't use a case. Of course the majority do, but the claim of that majority that "everyone uses a case...

What is your all time favorite piece of technology? Phone, tablet or PC? What operating system works

No, it's an XT. The computer that came *before* the 286 (which was before the 386, 486, pentium etc.)

What is your all time favorite piece of technology? Phone, tablet or PC? What operating system works

No, this is not good advice. If the person cannot afford an iMac, then spending *more* for a MacBook Pro is a non-starter. Also, they are two different classes of machine. If you need a desktop you need a desktop, if you need portability then you need portability. MacBook Air is also only...

What is your all time favorite piece of technology? Phone, tablet or PC? What operating system works

Kids today will find this funny, but this was the most reliable, "Did the most work on it" computer I ever owned.

What is your all time favorite piece of technology? Phone, tablet or PC? What operating system works

Taking your phone into the bathroom with you (and using it) is essentially identical to not washing your hands when you make poopies. Not really something to brag about.

What is your all time favorite piece of technology? Phone, tablet or PC? What operating system works

This thing was the best mobile device I owned until iPhone 4 surpassed it.

Where were you in 1999? What device did you have?

A lot of the fear was over the top because people are essentially crazy, but stuff did actually happen. We had rolling blackouts all over my city that day, the phone service was up and down and the traffic lights went out for blocks around my house for most of the day as well.

Where were you in 1999? What device did you have?

In 1999 I would have been using my trusty (transparent!) Palm III for everything and laughing a lot at my friends eMate. Cellphones at that point were still only for the rich and foolish. Photography was at that middle state wherein the old film cameras were too clunky and time consuming...

    case or no case?

I understand people are clumsy and the reason for using a case, but I don't understand why anyone would use a "glass protector" of any kind on the front. None of them are even close to the hardness, scratch resistance, and protection offered by the iPhone front glass itself. Not even close...

    case or no case?

The iPhone 6 is indeed (a bit) slippery. The iPhone 6s is night and day different and not slippery at all. The real issue here though is that people are clumsy, not that the iPhone design is "slippery."

    case or no case?

Case or no case is a user choice. What you DON'T get to do (even though half the universe seems to), is use a case and then criticise anything to do with the phone's design or have opinions about "Design" in general. If you're putting the thing in a rubber ring or some cheesy ruggedized...

Who uses a passcode on their phone?

I think the point is that the question that starts this thread is poorly phrased, and most of the people answering are talking like they have a choice, when in fact they don't. If you enable TouchID (and you should), then you have to have a passcode.

Who uses a passcode on their phone?

Everyone who uses TouchID uses a passcode of course. It's *required* as soon as you turn on TouchID, which you'd be an eedeeoht not to use if you have a phone that can use it.

Has anyone had an issue in which TouchID is not accepting your fingerprint?

I kinda doubt that it now works "100% of the time" I've worked on a lot of iPhones for a lot of people and I've never seen one work "100% of the time."

Has anyone had an issue in which TouchID is not accepting your fingerprint?

Re: Unlock acting up This (fingerprint suddenly stops working for no apparent reason), was an issue for me in 9.1 but not since the 9.2 update. Since then it works as advertised, but be aware that "as advertised" actually means that it only works about 80% of the time. One of the drawbacks to...

IPhone 7 What will be the "New" Feature ..

Based on rumours so far, the big tentpole feature of the iPhone 7 will be the new material it's made of which will eliminate the lines on the back. People who have the ridiculous idea that Liquid Metal is radio transparent, are leaning towards it being the new material but it's actually not...

I need an application to block pop up advertisements. Any suggestions?

I disagree with the statement that "... iOS has some built-in support but third party options are limited, and often cumersome (sic) ..." iOS has AdBlockers which are supposed to operate in the same way that those available for the Desktop (just search for adblockers). They are new, and so for...

I forgot my Apple id password and recovery email. How can I recover it?

Re: I forgot my apple id password and recovery email. Wow, actually *censored* the word EED-EE-OHT out of my reply. iMore must be a very "safe space" indeed. What a joke.
