I recently bought a new MacBook Pro and I am in love with the operating system and the hardware. It made me interested in also getting an iMac desktop. I know they have been out for a while now and was wondering if I should hold off in case they get updated soon.

I would personally wait for an update. The iMac really needs one. I have been waiting on the iMac and Mac Pro. Both have not been refreshed for sometime. If you're happy with your MBP for now, then there is no reason not to wait, unless you need it for immediate use.

Hey kazemosman, There is a great website called "iPhone, iPad, Mac Buyer's Guide: Know When to Buy" and it gives you a nice overview on all the Apple products and when you should purchase an upgrade to get best value for your money

As @firedept10 said, i think the iMac is due for an upgrade soon, so i would wait at least till the end of March to see what Apple is doing this year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Spring event that most likely includes refreshes for iMac, Mac Pro, and iPad Pro. This is obviously just a guess but it's what many people who are way more knowledgeable than I am about this stuff are saying.
