I want see this get updated. What I really think they should do is dump the Apple TV and integrate the whole thing into the mini. Make two price points to start: one similar to a Chromebook with little to no storage for $199 and one like the current bottom end model.

I think desktops/monitors are no longer the norm. People are increasingly moving to laptops. Even at work. Those of us who commute just had our desktops taken away and issued new laptops with docking stations.

There have been a few articles on MacRumors and a few other sites about an Apple support page that references a Mid-2014 Mac Mini refresh as seen here:

I'm sure there'll be an update so to speak soon enough.

    I have a mini, late '12.
I went from one of the behemoth of a g5 tower to the Mini which I have spec'd out, and I love it.
It is fast, and does what I need with a little foot print.

I would love to see it integrated with Apple TV. That could be very interesting...
Right now i have Airport express to play iTune and Movies through my home entertainment system, but it would be nice to connect directly to the router.

I don't know, just one less piece of equipment...

Mac Mini is a good choice for those who want to use Mac but don't have enough budget.

So I hope there's a "One more thing... Mac mini" next week. I have a MacBook that is plenty powerful enough for my day to day routine, but I would love to have a new Mac mini with a 6th gen Intel proc for minor gaming, backups for my other Macs, etc. I don't want to spend $2000 on an iMac, I want something more friendly on my wallet.

Hm, can't say I really love the idea of integration of the Apple TV. What I like about the TV is it's designed to consume content and it does that really well. If I wanted to plug move of a desktop style machine into my TV I could easily do that.

That said, it does seem like the Mini is falling off the product line and often forgotten.

Apple clearly doesn't love the Mini concept anymore. It's about 600 days since last update, and the base model has very low specs as of today.
I'm still using a late 2009 Mini, with 4 Gb of RAM and an SSD it still runs OS X 10.11 quite well.

A lot of people want this, but apple has so far held off. The same can be said for the Mac Pro. Both computer models have gone on extended periods of time w/o any love.
