    ‘I’ve Got A Pen And I’ve Got A Phone’

    Or, this statement..

"2014 was the planet's warmest year on record. Now, one year doesn't make a trend, but this does: Fourteen of the 15 warmest years on record have all fallen in the first 15 years of this century."

What about the last 6 years!

Really.... they own you because the masters of your belief system are paid for by big oil.

... and you do what you are told.

We have seen this before many times:

    • tobacco smoking
    • acid rain
    • ozone layer and fluorocarbons
    • DDT
    • etc etc

Despite all the evidence (which has now been proven without a doubt), the basic strategy of those opposing action was "keeping the controversy alive" by spreading doubt and confusion after a scientific consensus had been reached.

    History repeats itself once again........

Its easy to see the nexus of who "those opposing action" are... its the companies whose products are causing the harm. Then follow the money, follow the lobbyists.... and follow all the way to partisan voters who don't know they are being bought and paid for by the very same companies who threaten their health and their environment.

    All for money.

Chuckle all you want... your children won't be chuckling.

It's about all the tax credit we all pay for that they get despite the booming business. Your party supports it ALL the way. Mine probably actually does the same but are less obvious about it. We are all sold down the river.

Unless it is a conspiracy theory website that aligns with his beliefs, he's not going change his mind. You ask him a question and then he laughs while moving the goal post. Some of these people will not even accept what scientists see as evidence and instead only believe what they think is correct(even if Fox says otherwise). It is all about ad hominems with some of these people. If they don't insult you outright they tell you you aren't qualified to say anything because you're young despite the very policies past government implemented has affected everyone and they can do research themselves in addition to those policies affecting them personally. That is the thing with this group, "they know." They don't require any evidence and they don't believe you can gain knowledge through research. Blocking out facts is encouraged such as what Hydrogen3 did up above. He posted up to the point where he wanted to remember then everything else goes "poof!" Honestly it is a complete 180 sometimes for what I thought some of what these people were like from their posts on the other sub-forums. They call for evidence and critical thinking and then and only then do they take what is said seriously....but here, here, is a different story.

Did not deserve any attention. An arrogant statement from an arrogant President. What amazes me you follow him blindly. Redistributing wealth for any reason is an outrage... There is no free lunch or in this case "community Collage." Someone pays the bill. You are to foolish to see who. You and me. Unlike you I want to keep what I've earned.

Side note: I wish people knew the difference between 'to' and 'too'. And 'you're' and 'your'. And 'their', 'they're' and 'there'. It really takes away from your credibility even if people would otherwise agree with you. It's not just old dudes being cranky. It really makes you sound like you're uneducated when your spelling and word choice are bad. There are examples of it all over this thread. And I bet they're not even aware of their errors.

In response to this actual thread, I would advise caution in allowing the "Freedom Fry" hysteria taking over like it did post-9/11. What happened in Paris and everywhere else that had similar things happen is horrible. Terrible people will do terrible things and they will find any justification to do so. Man is self-serving and will do anything to keep power for themselves. While I know not everyone agrees, my opinion is that religion was created to justify those baser desires and legitimize it. Whether it is the Bible or the Qur'an, you will find verse s that truly are terrible and horrendous and attempt to make believers justify truly awful acts. That said, it is important to remember that not everyone here in the U.S. observes every verse in the Bible(Good or bad verses unfortunately). I am an American but I assume the same also applies there too. In that way, if you label every Muslim by everything that is found in the Qur'an, you better accept the reverse as it applies to your own religion. Seeing all the Christians in my life and how they act, most of them would have been put to death already by the laws found in the Bible. Taking a verse from the Bible, people like to see the splinters in another's eye and not see the plank in their own.

In many ways the two religions are similar in their actions today. Both are trying to get people to follow the laws in their respective books what amounts to be a loss of freedom for all. Making government institutions religious. Both kill people justifying it with "what's right." I remember President Bush(yes I voted for him back them) telling people how God commanded him to action and we went overseas and took out those evil Muslims. It may not be so blatant but the same actions are there. It's just that the "American way" that you always hear is the Capitalist/Democracy/Christian way. In my view, in this country, those three things are so connected now in the minds of everyone that when you say one, you bring all. If you challenge that view, you get labeled as un-American, communist, socialist, muslim, anti-christ, Satan has your heart, etc.

Science, logic, reason and evidence is thrown out in favor of faith, "I feel" and what's right in the eyes of Christians who are the majority of our politicians. We went to war based on emotion and if you didn't agree, you were labeled as un-American. If you asked for clear evidence Saddam had nuclear weapons, you were labeled as a godless liberal and un-American. I remember getting caught up in that hysteria. I was raised Christian and I remember going over to my grandparents' house and having "freedom fries" because the French refused to fight due to no evidence.

We are a Christian nation to many of those in power right now and many of their constituents. The majority of people of any religion in this country is Christianity. For all intents and purposes, it is Christianity that goes to war. I have seen the majority of our soldiers being christian, they are our crusaders taking back Jerusalem again. It's all the bad parts of the Christian religion though, the stuff people want to believe in
