I hope he does just because of this response...

Boehner Facing Dissent and Defections in Vote to Remain Speaker of House

WASHINGTON — Speaker John A. Boehner is all but assured of re-election to the top House leadership post when his colleagues vote on Tuesday, but the new term also could serve up the embarrassment of a potentially record number of his own Republican conference voting against him as speaker.

How the vote plays out is both a referendum on Mr. Boehner’s strength and on the Republicans’ ability to demonstrate a capacity to govern effectively now that they control both chambers of Congress. Already, the dissension among a small but vocal group of Republicans puts Mr. Boehner and his leadership team in the awkward situation of trying to beat back a conservative protest on the opening day of the 114th Congress, detracting from what should be a triumphant Republican return to power.

Have you ever heard Louie speak? He sounds so, ignorant. It is like his constituents don't hear what he says.

Bigoted much? The man is no fool... served in the Army JAG corps... a state judge in Texas... stupid people don't do those things...

The Appeal to Authority citation of Comedy Central/Colbert is a logical fallacy of the highest order.

People that cite Colbert or anything on Comedy Central as authoritative are dumber than they think the person is that they're targeting with the citation...
Again, listen to him actually speak. He says incredibly ignorant statements. Watch the video from Colbert, it is hilarious. Louie literally said "Gays in the military would spend too much time massaging each other on the battlefield".

That isn't some exaggeration, he literally said that in an interview. Tell me that isn't an ignorant statement.

Madelynn Taylor, a 74-year-old U.S. Navy veteran from Boise who has been battling for the right to be buried beside her late wife Jean Mixner in the Idaho Veterans Cemetery, has won her fight, NCLR reports:

Idaho officials agreed to Taylor’s request following the National Center for Lesbian Rights’ (NCLR) recent victory in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which found that Idaho’s ban on marriage equality violated the U.S. Constitution. The court ordered marriages to begin on October 15, 2014, and directed the state to recognize the marriages of couples who married in other states.

Taylor served in the Navy from 1958 to 1964. In late 2013, Idaho officials denied Taylor’s request to be buried in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery together with her late wife, citing Idaho’s laws prohibiting marriage by same-sex couples. NCLR and Boise attorneys Deborah A. Ferguson and Craig Durham of Ferguson Durham PLLC filed a lawsuit on Taylor’s behalf, challenging the exclusion as a violation of the due process and equal protection guarantees of the U.S. Constitution.

“Words can’t describe how incredibly grateful I am for all the work that went into making our wishes possible,” said Taylor. “Idaho is where some of our best memories together are and it’s where I want to spend eternity with Jean.”

Nancy Pelosi Comes Out In Support of a Trans-Inclusive U.S. Military

PelosiNancy Pelosi has officially come out in support of a trans-inclusive U.S. military. Currently transgender people are barred from enlisting in accordance with Instruction 6130.03, a DoD rule that lists “history of major abnormalities or defects of the genitalia, such as change of sex [and] hermaphroditism,” as justification to turn away able-bodied perspective soldiers.

“Leader Pelosi believes there is no place for discrimination in the U.S. Armed Forces, including on the basis of gender identity," Pelosi spokesperson Drew Hammill stated to the Washington Blade.

While gays and lesbians have been able to serve openly in the wake of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” being repealed, transgender individuals are still constrained by a set of archaic provisions rooted in homophobia and trans-exclusion. Though the Obama Administration has expressed its support for an eventual review of the current DoD provisions, progress on the trans-issue has been non-existent.

"Leader Pelosi is correct of course,” agreed Executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality Mara Kiesling. “The outdated, discriminatory ban on open trans service is bad for trans people, bad for military readiness, and bad for America. We are 100 percent confident that open trans military service is as inevitable as the military bureaucracy that seems to have stalled progress once again.”

This is good news! Trans people being in the military is an awesome step for the LGBTQ community. Props to Pelosi on that.

The fact of the matter is…it doesn’t even matter anymore. We’re producing so much oil and natural gas. The gutless Republicans are campaign with you on limited constitutional government– that they’re gonna get rid of Obamacare, they’re gonna secure the borders– and behind the scenes, they’re stabbing you in the back.

We didn’t repeal Obamacare, but at least we got you Keystone!

We didn’t stop amnesty, but at least we got you Keystone!

We didn’t cut spending, but at least we got you Keystone!

They can't repeal it. The thing a few red states actually benefitted from the ACA, and they won't admit.
