How common is EV-D68 in the United States?

In general, a mix of enteroviruses circulates every year, and different types of enteroviruses can be common in different years. Small numbers of EV-D68 have been reported regularly to CDC since 1987.*

And there is more:

Due to increasing knowledge about the nationwide EV-D68 outbreak, there has been a very large increase in the number of specimens tested from patients with severe respiratory illness. Awareness of these initial results is also contributing to increased recognition of new cases.

But wait there's more:

The primary reason for increases in cases is that several states are investigating clusters of people with severe respiratory illness, and specimens are still being tested for EV-D68. It can take a while to test specimens and obtain lab results. That?s because the testing is complex and slower, and can only be done by CDC and a small number of state public health laboratories. As the backlog of specimens is processed, the number of states and confirmed cases will likely increase. These increases will not necessarily reflect changes in real time, or mean that the situation is getting worse.

All from the people themselves the CDC:

The "Affordable Care Act" (Obamacare is so played out) is so more people can get health care and is more universal, you know, like other countries already have.

Then how in the he77 do you explain that I had Blue Cross Blue Shield before Obamacare, and I still have Blue Cross Blue Shield NOW?

Maybe ...... because I have an unemployed, ebola carrying illegal immigrant, muslim friend who secretly runs the United Nations and they made arraignments for me to keep my insurance?

Could that be why?

You probably work for the Gov. Millions of retired people Health insurance changed with Obamacare." If you like your plan you can keep your plan." Lie after lie after lie.

What makes anyone think that a community organizer, who has little or no real world experience that wasn’t touched by privilege, can faithfully and adequately govern America?

Affordable Care Act isn't government run, government facilitated if anything. You still get matched up with private insurance agencies and doctors. What's the issue?

That discounts most presidents in history. There were very few presidents who came from nothing to become president. Andrew Jackson was one and he was an *******, but he was effective and a bit crazy.

I traveled a lot and lived outside of US for a while, so I have a basic idea of how it's done in some other countries. I believe a properly done universal health insurance (a combination of a basic tax funded plan and privately purchased add-ons) could actually work well. We don't have the best medical care in the US, it's good but not the very best and it's the most expensive in the world, by a large margin. We already have a socialized (taxpayer funded) army, socialized (taxpayer funded) police, socialized (taxpayer funded) schools, socialized (taxpayer funded) highways, I have no problem with having the properly set up taxpayer funded basic health insurance. Socialized does not equal Socialism. But Obamacare is anything but properly set up. It's a cluster muck.

At the heart of any gov't sponsored insurance is cost control. When you are the biggest buyer, you should be getting volume discounts. Just ask Walmart. Or look at the cost of prescription drugs in Canada. And a basic gov't sponsored insurance plan would keep a cost check on the price of add-ons. The biggest problem with Obamacare is that it's forcing everyone, by law, to buy insurance, while expressly prohibiting the government from regulating costs. It's a set up for massive rip offs. And the way Obama did it, the real costs won't kick in until government subsidies run out - when his successor will be in the office. Obamacare is a train wreck, everything was done backwards. It has not really exploded in our faces just yet, but it will. At least Medicare Part D that Bush pushed through is not mandatory.

If you want to see a well working national insurance plan, look at Switzerland (all insurance is private, but with very strict cost control and coverage standards set by the gov't) or Israel (a basic health insurance with private add-ons). Both countries have better health systems than we do.

What happens when we combine political correctness, an open-borders mentality, governmental incompetence, and the Ebola virus? Anyone!?! I think we’re about to find out. God I hope I'm wrong...

The problem is, people lie, if someone is determined to go to States and they come from a country that's on the restricted list, they could fly to say Germany on one airline, cross into the Netherlands, stay a couple of days and fly from the Netherlands on another airline. If that person has a US or EU passport, how do you know that they even were in West Africa ? You'd need to do some major international crosschecks, or just stop air travel altogether. Yes, I think they should temporarily restrict travel to and from some countries, but this would not prevent infection, just perhaps dampen the initial rate.

What that person is proposing is that we put America above every other country, but the issue is if we cutoff travel to and from West Africa, you only hurt more than help. I can see doing that if it is an epidemic, but for now it is barely getting here as is. I mean every case of Ebola so far is being contained, what is the issue, or if this Fox fear-mongering people? And the comments on that article are disgusting, someone actually had the nerve to type a death threat to Obama.

Fortunately, Bill O’Reilly is here to make sure we all know The Truth.
