Let's say I have Prime so already invested, what is downside? meaning, I need space for my photos/easily access them. The 5GB I have from Apple is filled up and I don't often offload to my PC so I have a lot on my phone.

I like that Amazon is basically unlimited. So, I can do auto backups which is nice. Does it delete photos from camera roll if you delete from Amazon photos? I don't think it does but I know Google Photos used to do that. Does it store full size image or does is compress? Live photos or no? What am I missing here as it seems a no brainer to store my photos from my phone? What is loss of functionality/picture quality/control by using it or is there something better?

Personally, I don’t use Amazon’s storage service therefore I cannot answer your questions. Having said that, I do recommend that you purchase a portable drive for storage purposes. I wouldn’t recommend completely trusting ANY cloud service to safeguard your photos.

Oh yeah I get you. The reason I am asking is sometimes I do not get the photos off my phone in a timely manner so when I’m over five gigs of photos I need storage online. All of my photos eventually end up on a hard drive external at home for sure.
