I bought myself a DJI Spark and am like a kid in a candy store while using it. Although I enjoy its aerial view capability, I’ve yet to use the drone for photo and video capturing. Have any of you done so, and if so, can you share a photo or two?
I have a phantom 4 Pro and I recently sold my spark for a Mavic Air.
Here are a couple of blog posts on my website. Forgive the posts I’m not much of a writer.
There is also a link to the entire gallery, as well as my YouTube and Vimeo channel. I pretty much just use YouTube since I stopped using copyrighted music.
I love the drones, the Mavic Air pretty much goes with me everywhere and the phantom is just a joy to fly. I have been doing still photography for the last 20 or so years, and this has rekindled my love for the hobby. My wife, not so much, I believe her exact words have been “another f-@$&$g expensive hobby.” And “you’re not getting any more stuff till I get a new stove” the stove was delivered a couple weeks ago, btw.
I have a buddy that got a phantom 4 Pro for Christmas and then he bought my spark and all the accessories I had, we get together about once a week or every couple of weeks and go flying.

I almost purchased the Mavic, but opted for the Spark instead because I’m a beginner and wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy flying it around. Anyway, I don’t regret getting it, although I wish the flight time was a bit longer.
I used one with the spark, but it’s a “your mileage may vary” type situation. I was using an old iPhone, with no internet connection, so the otg cable allowed me to tether it to my iPhone X in order to update maps, and unlock some warning zones. The otg cable is not officially supported for the spark. They are not very expensive, so why not pick one up and give it a try?
Congratulations on your new drone!
I do not own a drone, but I'd love to have one.
Thank you, sir. I need to find some time to spend a good portion of the day flying it, specifically in an open park. Yesterday was gorgeous here in Orlando, but heck, it was 90 degrees outside....(laughing)....Today is breezy and is suppose to start raining with thunderstorms starting shortly after noon so flying today isn't happening...at least not outside. Flying indoors is okay, but without it detecting GPS, flying indoors is a little unsteady at times.
Bought a Mavic Pro recently with some birthday money, just haven't taken it out beyond a few test flights. Baseball season is in full swing here, had 3 games this weekend, but hopefully soon.

Sweet!.....Maybe once I've taken the time to learn everything about flying the Spark, I'll move up to the Mavic Pro.....
