The pain & sadness will fade but never really go away, much as with human loved ones.
Here is 'Boo' our Pit-mix pup. She was 2 end of August last year. Apparently 'a bit' Dobe plus whatever jumped the fence. It's our hope that She will age gracefully with Sherry & I...IMG_3329.jpg

A well adjusted and cared for dog is a sign of a 'functional family' as dogs adapt to almost anything within reason. They cope better with adversity than many humans. And if people don't treat dogs with kindness, respect, & love - watch carefully how they treat each other when 'no one's watching'.....

'Boo' in a stand-off with one of several monkeys who often gather on an out-building roof. Note the raising of the hair on her neck and back

Are those Monkeys friendly?

Most are wary of people, especially the older ones. The youngsters can be curious but some have attitude too. We do 'share' our mango tree with them ( as if we have choice) Best comparison I can make to NA critters is they are like raccoons in a way. Cute but destructive. This one used to 'take up a perch' like he owned the place

Unless you are in agriculture. Crop losses can be devastating and pests are next to weather related issues and praedial larceny ( theft of crops) as high risks. There used to be a bounty on monkey heads if delivered to the police station ( 60's & 70's)

True, but remember their spirit is always with us. Their sprint could be right next to us but we would not see it. But out spirited let’s can see us.
