IPhone 4S records in 1080p HD which is usually (always) 16:9, the iPhone 4S screen does not match these ratios so apple chose to fill the screen personally I like to know what the bounds of my recording are to verify nothing is being left out.
How To:
1. Switch to video recording in camera app
2. Double Tap on Recording Screen
