How do I prevent the Finder from popping up after downloading files? This seems to be a Yosemite thing. I just upgraded today from Mavericks and this 'feature' is super annoying.

It's not a Yosemite thing. It's been there at least since Snow Leopard. It's possible that Yosemite changed the default but it didn't for me. Assuming you are in Safari, open preferences and on the first tab (I think I'm not in my Mac at the moment) near the bottom there should be a checkbox to Open Downloaded Files Immediately. Uncheck this. If not on the first tab, check the security tab.

Sorry. Not familiar with Waterfox. Maybe look for a setting similar to the safari one I described above.
