any idea what this is??

on the menu bar, next to the bluetooth icon in the pic, there is this little " settings" icon that just appears and disappears all the time, it never stays on and it's very distracting, I tried clicking on it but nothing happens... any idea you guys??

I believe that is for certain automator actions that are running.

Edit: To find out exactly what app or process is causing that, run activity monitor with nothing else active, then show all processes and sort by cpu usage. That should help find the culprit.

still no idea, run activity monitor and it didn't really show anything...

Found it !!!!! it was an app called " TimeMachine Backup Scheduler ".... I don't think it's been updated to 10.10, removed it and all is back to normal.
