I just finished updating to OS X Yosemite on my MacBook Pro... and my password is not working to log me in. The hint pops up after several failed attempts, and the hint is telling me to use the password that I am using, that isn't working.

I've put the password in with caps lock on, and off. Just to be sure.

Booted up in recovery mode. Reset my password. Seems like all is back to normal. Upon reboot, my user account automatically logged in without me even having to enter a password.

Glad you got the login thing worked out.

To turn off the auto-login, go to:

 > System Preferences... > Users & Groups > Login Items > Automatic Login [OFF]

You may need to click the little padlock and enter your account password somewhere along the way.
