I'm looking to organize my various account information in a better way than the current one. Currently I'm using stickies (paper kind) to record online and other account details. Unfortunately, this sticky note pile has grown over time.

So it's time to get better organized, and consider a digital system. I'm hesitant to put all of the account information online in a password management system for various reasons.

Keeping it simple and using what OS X provides, can I use Notes for each account and save each Note separately in an encrypted folder?

If your needs are for password then I would use one that's made for passwords. I have been using 1Password for a long and have no complaints. Work in iOS Mac and windows.

I spent some time last night researching 1Password and mSecure. Both appear to be good options. Will think more on this over the holidays.

    Appreciate everyone's input.

It's worth it even at the higher price though. I keep track not only of website logins, but my family's social security numbers, bank account info, and even software serial numbers.

iCloud, Dropbox and WIFI sync. Awesome app. And it works on iPhone, Windows and Mac. I bought the family version for PC and Mac and my whole family uses it.

Yep. I have the Mac version as well and it syncs with the iOS version via iCloud so I can add passwords to either and have them both places.
There are also browser plugins for Safari, Firefox, and Chrome so when you go to a site with a login you just click the button and it fills in the login and password for you.

Oh, and a password generator too. Most of my passwords these days are 16+ random characters, numbers, and punctuation because I only have to remember my master password.

Yesterday I went ahead and picked up 1Password. So far have converted around two dozen stickies. Not sure why I waited so long. The exercise has already revealed a few gaps in my online account habits and strategy. Once I run the security audit it will likely reveal more. Plus, I forgot how many accounts and related items I've accumulated over the years. Thanks for everyone's suggestions on this.
