I may upgrade my MacBook Pro with the newest 11.3 beta, if I haven't already....:)

So, I dropped off the beta program with this cycle. My computer never successfully installed 11.3 Beta 1, and it tried 2-3 times.

Every time, it tries to install macOS (Beta or Release), it will trigger a kernel panic and revert. It takes then 20 minutes before I can use my computer, which is a no-go for me. I’m sure it’s specific to my MacBook Pro, reimaging is not an option right now; it will have to wait until the end of April.

Kernel panic? Wow! I wonder what kind of errors are being detected?

A system thread did an unexpected operation - I don't recall the exact phrasing.

It's a very low level panic, because it doesn't even mention the loaded kernel modules. All I get is a dump of memory space addresses and register values. And while I can recognize these dumps, I don't know near enough to understand what it didn't like.

So, my Mac decided to upgrade to the beta release even if I unenrolled it :(

In this beta, WebKit, the system component underneath Safari and other applications, is very broken. I can't even navigate to most web sites, and those that I can have major bits missing (stylesheet, ECMAScript/JavaScript). The Safari console says that WebKit suffered an error.

It's bad enough that I switched to my alternate browser: Edge.

I found this article quite interesting. https://9to5mac.com/2021/02/08/psa-...without-enough-space-can-result-in-data-loss/

I forgot about Big Sur. I’m currently updating my iPad Pro, but I’ll update my Mac Mini M1 in a few minutes. Thanks for the reminder, sir. :)

You’re welcome.

I think I also figured out what was causing my update issues with the 11.2 and 11.3 beta/release versions. I’m waiting for Beta 3 to finish installing before confirming.

I can confirm that I found it. It's caused by an Apple Thunderbolt Display being plugged in during installation.
