    Hi folks,

Always like chrome but just read recently that it's a battery hog especially on OS X. When did this happen? Haven't been paying attention to my tech for a while.

Chrome has been acting odd (on OS X) for the last couple of updates. I've been using Safari more and more.

Safari is highly optimized for this. Chrome is not, and it's slower.

Okay. I switched back to Safari as well. Chrome on my new Macbook was a battery killer.

I have a three year old 15 MacBook Retina and have not noticed any battery issue with Chrome. I generally don't have it plugged in as go go from class to class. I can't replicate this very talked about issue at least on my model.

I just use Safari also. Chrome just destroys the battery. In fact, I uninstalled it.
