about continuity

So i got no mac nor iphone, just ipad and considering getting one by the end of the year,
so after doing some research there is continuity that can use for answering iphone call and replying message from mac, but beside that can it be use for other? like replying message from whatsapp,bbm or anyother messaging apps? since no one talk about it....
