I cannot get my iPhone 6 to connect via Bluetooth

I have a 15" mid-2012 MBPS and I just installed Yosemite. When I try to connect my iPhone 6 via Bluetooth it won't connect and I get a "network unavailable" message. How do I fix this?

If you're trying to connect to it just for the sake of connecting, I don't you will be able to, but if you're trying to connect to it for Hotspot purposes, you should be able to by enabling the hotspot feature on your iPhone 6.
