Is wireless syncing available w/o the need for wifi connection between OS X Yosemite & iOS 8?

Does anyone know if wireless syncing is available without the need for wifi connection between OS X Yosemite and iOS 8? I've searched all over the internet and cannot find an answer. Thanks!
