Duplicate Calendar Entries (MacBook Air)

Since updating this morning to Maverick, my calendar has double entries for holidays. I have the birthday and holiday options checked and up until today, everything was working fine. My home calendar color is purple and the duplicate entries are in blue. Any idea why this is happening?

Simply select the calendar list and then uncheck one of the holiday calendars. I noticed the same thing. Apparently, Mavericks provide its own holiday calendar.
