I had to go through Apple's website to finally get it to download. Nothing came up by checking the app store only for me.

Okay I have one user reporting that the install is looking at his HD as time machine back ups which is bull.

Anyone else run into this?

Installing now. Do we get iWork's for free now on mac as well as iPhone? I only bought my Mac mini yesterday!

Re: Mavericks is Free

Hey guys I have a question. How can we do a clean install now? Does it download the Mavericks install as a DMG file or does it install it on top of your existing OS? I want to do a clean install to get rid of things I don't need.

Re: Mavericks is Free

Well, I suppose I should logoff via my MacBook and read the forums via Tapatalk so I can download Mavericks. Thanks for the tip...:)

Finished installing. Didn't take as long as I thought. Enjoying the iBooks & Maps addition to the OS.

Re: Mavericks is Free

Not a clean install. There are ways to create a bootable Mavericks from the downloaded update app. Google is your friend here.

Thanks after it finished downloading, I was searching around the package contents and found the DMG file. Already made a boot device. Time is install when I have some free time.

Re: Mavericks is Free

I have had less than a minute remaining on installation for the last 5 minutes.

Just let it do its thing... did that for me too. That last minute seemed like forever... and the reboot after install seemed to be an eternity too...

Same thing here, I was just starting to panic when it came back up.

The whole process was very smooth but the installation took much longer than I expected.
