    I'm coming from windows of course, and when I had documents that I wanted to hide, it could be easily done. How do I hide and protect documents in Mac? Is there a quick and simply way, so that other users cannot see certain files?

    Well, both. I'd prefer to be able to both password protect them, and hide them, but info on either one of those, would also be very helpful.

    It's not going to be built in functionality, more of a 3rd party program to do it. This link is freeware to hide files, but a paid version allows you to password protect them:
