Welcome to iMore! Text replacement in OS X should work as long as both computers are logged into iCloud using the same Apple ID. That being said, it can be finicky from time to time. In this case, try signing out of iCloud in System Preferences > iCloud, rebooting, and then signing back in. That will often force your computer to re-sync your text replacement shortcuts.
