iPad camera kit and naming folders

Is there a way to name each import something different. LIke today we are going to the North Shore of hawaii and would like to name it "north shore 2010"

You can name it something specific on the computer you sync the iPad with. As an example I have a folder in Pictures called iPad that I sync my iPad to and in that folder I have all my folders Backgrounds, Christmas 2009, etc You can't do it on the iPad itself.

Yea, it seems like an oversight that you can't rename an album, etc. It would also be nice to be able to merge albums on the iPad so I can keep projects, etc. together instead of each being in it's own dated folder and leaving me to pick through them all later.

I have found that using Image capture to transfer the files makes it easier for me to manipulate them prior to importing into iPhoto.
