Man, that's garbage. I was actually thinking of biting again and getting one. Looks like now a jailbreak is needed.

Or (as before) getting a wifi version and use Mywi on the iphone..or mifi..or Evo..you get the idea..

Good. You really think a cell network is going to stream video (even SD) like that? Videos get downsampled on the iPhone, I don't see the big deal.

Well yeah, i kinda do. What do you think tethering to a mifi or whatever is? A 3G network. Video isn't downsampled then. And 3G is broadband.
