Sales Predictions For 3G on Friday

By not making the iPad available in Apple stores until 5 P.M. on the 30th, Apple engineering a lower first day sales number for the the 3G release.

Including pre-orders, I would estimate that total 3G sales for the release day will be in the 150,000 to 175,000 range.

Any other opinions?

Your numbers are probably pretty close. I wonder how many people will be returning/exchanging their Wi-Fi iPads?

If you bought your wifi only iPad on launch day, you will not be able to exchange/return, as you are outside of the return policy. You would be better off selling on Craigslist or Ebay, and buying the 3G. I may look into passing my wifi only iPad on to my wife, and going for the 3G, but maybe come second version.
