Mini SIM cards swappable?

I am just wondering since the reports that the new iPhone will also use the mini SIM card, if you can just pop it out of the iPhone and pop it into the iPad?

I mean seems like an easy way to get internet on both devices, albeit only one at a time.

Would be interesting to know if one could take out an activated MicroSIM from an iPad+3G, put it in a SIM adapter to make it full size, then throw it into a 3G Mi-Fi device or a 3G USB modem...

That's $15-30 a month with no contract, versus $60 a month on a 2-year contract.

I'm just saying, though. All hypothetical.
