Been having trouble connecting the iPad to a projector to give a presentation. VGA adapter does not work when connected to the iPad and then to a projector or when connected to any TV monitor. Apple had no answer. It appears that the iPad must be in the iPad dock with the VGA cable adapter connected to the dock and the the cable connected to the projector. I will test this later this am when I get to the office. Has anyone used the iPad with a projector?

    Thanks.

Tried using the dock with the VGA cable to the projector, but it did not work. I cannot get the projector to recognize the iPad. I am using a Proxima Desktop Projector 6150. Any suggestions.

    Tks,

Are you in KeyNote or one of the other few apps that support video out over the dock connector? A common misperception is that the VGA cord will output your iPad screen. It only outputs very specific content like movie from Videos, slideshow from Photos, or presentation from KeyNote.
