I went with the bluetooth keyboard as well. I prefer typing in landscape mode for most applications.
does anyone know what the battery life is on the BT keyboard?
My understanding of the original question was that it was about the battery life of the keyboard rather than the impact of the keyboard on the battery life of the iPad.The iPad really does have exceptional battery life, so I'd imagine even if bluetooth keyboard does put a dent in it, it's still enough to get you through the day taking notes and such. You should check out the clamcase. It looks pretty cool and convenient.

I confess that I do not know the answer to either question. I have been using the keyboard lightly for more than a week and the battery is still working. There is no battery meter or indicator. What I expect is that at some point the keyboard will simply stop working. I will report when that happens. However, I doubt that my report will tell anyone much.
Suffice it to say that my experience to date tells me that I need not carry with me more than one change (2 AA cells) of batteries.
Keyboard/dock does not work with iPad if you are using the Apple branded case. You'll have to cut the back of the case in order for it to fit onto the keyboard dock. That's why I went with the BT keyboard. I don't use it much, but it works great.
While this item is no longer in production, the iPad has caused there to be renewed interest in it. They are available on Amazon (and I would expect, on eBay). You might find the item a little pricey.Another idea to throw into the realm of iPad keyboards... I resurrected my old Stowaway folding universal Bluetooth keyboard that I used for my Palm and WM devices way back in the day. It synced right up with my iPad, so now I can leave my BT keyboard on my desk for convenience and take the ultra-portable folding keyboard in my iPad bag wherever I roam.
My thought is that I cannot imagine anything that used wires that would compete wit Apple's wireless solution at $70-.Anyone ever think about a Foldable/flexible USB keyboard using the Camera Connect USB plug??? It would be very portable, I know its USB wires and all, but seems like a quick keyboard alternative.
What are your thoughts????

One might be willing to pay the premium for compactness when using it with an iPhone but with an iPad, the Apple keyboard, at $70, seems a much better value.
