My iPad mini has gone black it won't come on, how can I fix it?

my Ipad mini has gone black it won't come on

I was reading and closed my case. When I opened it; it was black I pushed the button on the top and it does not do any thing .I put it on charge for 3 hours and still not turning on. I put it on the tower thinking maybe I can turn it on this way but still not turning on.

Press & hold the home and power buttons at the same time for 30 seconds or until you see the Apple logo... then let go when you see the Apple logo...
