iPad mini Shipping/Tracking Thread

My iPad Mini is still preparing for shipment but my smart cover (ordered at the same time) shipped yesterday early morning! The Smart Cover has been stuck in Hong Kong for over a day now though!

Yep. The tracking info in the above thread has the Mini going through the same countries as the iPhone 5. It will end up in Alaska and then come down to the lower 48. No fear of it getting delayed by Frankenstorm if you live in the mid-West.

I ordered the iPad and AppleCare. AppleCare was already sent, I think.

They don't send you AppleCare +, it is attached to your iPad when you get it so you don't have to activate it or anything.

I did get the documents via snail mail for my iPhone 5, that's what I meant.

Does Apple charge your credit card as soon as the order is placed or only when it ships? I thought they only charged you the amount when the device actually ships, but my card was charged the full amount, even though I'm not supposed to get mine until the 16th. I'm debating on going into the store on Friday and trying to pick one up, but was wondering if I somehow might get mine early since my card has already been charged.

I don't think you can cancel your iPad mini order you might have to wait for it to ship to you then return in the store for a Refund.

Tracking still not working by reference number through Fedex or UPS. Has been at the "preparing for shipping" since Friday. Surely its shipped by now!

That means they haven't created a tracking # yet or are ready to process your mini maybe better luck tomorrow.

You're lucky. I got tracking info from UPS via the reference number for my smart cover and 32GB Black Mini and they are both leaving China. (Sure wish my new toys were closer. ;(
