I know price is important to most, but as that seems to be 90% of the issue, let's take that out of the equation. Would you buy one if it was $50 cheaper? I think we all know the answer. The majority would. So clearly a mistake on Apple's part there, but to consistently criticise a product over its price is bizarre. We get it. It's expensive. But I want one, so i'm getting one. It is expensive. It is probably too expensive. But I want an iPad, and the current iPad is too big for my commuting needs, too bulky for my liking - hence why I have used a Kindle and my iPhone for the past few years. But now the iPad mini will cater for my needs. It is perfect for what I want it for, and as an iOS device, I won't have to change the way I operate (even with the Kindle books app). The price is an issue, yes. But not enough of an issue for me. The upgrade from iPhone 4S to 5 is far more a waste of my money than this is. Well happy about the iPad mini
You make a very good case for buying one now. However, what do you do when Apple releases the next version in March with a retina display? In my mind I would be totally pissed off that I just wasted $350.
