I got my eye on a Tempurpedic. Does anyone have one of these and can give me thoughts on it? Or any other type of bed that is like that?

Trust me, if I could build a real berthing compartment in my house, I would. Best sleep I ever had in my life was on a ship. I haven't slept well since about 2005 when I left my last ship, the carrier Enterprise.

The big "E". That ship has a lot of history attached to it. The first ship that i was deployed to, was the U.S.S Boxer. It was designated LPH4. I rode that puppy during the Cuban Missile Crisis, in 1962.

An LPH. Ewwww! I did a short one on the Guam. Never been so scared on a ship before. Those things were literally falling apart on a 3 foot wave.

The Boxer was a baby flattop from WWII. The Marine Corps had just developed their "vertical envelopement" scheme, so the Boxer was designated LPH for Landing Platform Helicopter. No aircraft on the flight deck, just Hueys. We spent 90 days circling around Cuba, then steamed back to Moorehead City, N.C., and we then went back to Camp Lejeune. For me, i've always ended up in the wrong place, at the right time.

Moorehead City is a beautiful town. I used to live in Hubert, which is about a half hour away closer to Camp Lejeune.

Don't remember Hubert, but i remember every stone and tree in Onslow County. From the beach to the woods, i walked it.
