That was the first thing my wife said...kind of morbidly humorous given the show was more a concern than a direct response about the man's death, lol!

I didn't even realize he was sick. He didn't age as well as Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) did, but it still came as a shock that he's gone. Hollywood lost a good one. I'll even forgive him for that awful story line on Nip/Tuck. :)

Makes me wonder how they'll handle this on the new Dallas on TNT.

According to THIS, .... "Dallas is currently shooting Episode 6 from its 15-episode second season. Hagman worked virtually until his death and is expected to appear in all of the first six episodes. As of now, there is no hiatus planned to allow the writers to craft a proper send-off for J.R., though I hear production is ahead of schedule and can afford to do that without missing the January 28 premiere date. Dallaswriters are still breaking stories and writing scripts for the remainder of Season 2, so the departure of J.R. is likely being weaved into the show’s upcoming plot lines."
