55, bald, ugly, and reasonably tech savvy..coz I’ve had to be for my daughters, and regular joe friends.

I was never interested in Apple stuff prior to my my eldest daughter asking me for an iPod touch for her birthday 2008 ish.. (old broken memory lol)
I promised her I’d research it before buying.

Long story short, she got her iPod Touch, and I bought an extra one for me.
I was hooked on Apple from that day onward.
The whole family also was.

Watching the frustration my friends have gone through with various Samsung (and other android based brand) phones, and being asked dozens of times to help..and sometimes not being able to, has reinforced my love of the 99% simplicity and compatibility I have experienced with Apple.
I’m happy to pay more for the convenience.
They bought theirs coz the phones were cheap...and their continuing frustration has been epic.. (“hey Phil, why do you never have trouble with your phone and stuff?” is a question I get asked all the time)

Fanboy? Yes!
And with hands on multi platform reasons for the best part of a decade.
I now don’t own any tech product that’s not Apple, and have zero interest anymore.
Currently MacBook Air, 3 iPhones, 2 iPads, iPod, Watch (love my watch!), TV 4, HomePod, and various other apple bits and bobs.
And many Many others bought and sold over the years.

Second HomePod on the way the day AirPlay 2 becomes public....twiddling my thumbs waiting..waiting......

I was an Android user since day one but got tired of all the tinkering just to get something working correctly. So now I'm all in with the Apple ecosystem and have no plans of leaving anytime soon.

All my devices were Nexus devices and I was big into rooting and custom roms. Yes, there is going to be tinkering and tweaking when it comes to custom roms and I get that. But even when I went back to stock the tinkering was still there. Just got tired of it.

I've always said from the beginning:

Apple just works. Period.

Once again, thank you all for your friendly welcomes.

I’ve been trying to participate and post as much as I can.
I’m 56 and a member of various personal interest forums (and am an admin on 2)...but have so far never run into the epically restrictive posting restrictions I’ve recently encountered here.
Word limits in posts, or whatever, based on iMores censorship algorithms.

So given my most recent experience here with subject censorship on iMore I’m unlikely to post again, nor even bother reading any further due to the concerns I have with finding true unadulterated information ANY OP intended.

You All have been a wonderfully welcoming group of people.
Very friendly.
But if I as an avid Apple fan, and user can’t post my honest first hand experiences without being ridiculously over censored there’s no real point me continuing to be a member here.

It’s been a short, but eye opening membership I’ve had here.
Say good stuff about apple and all is good.
Say anything slightly negative and the censorship kicks in.

That’s not a balanced forum.
