Welcome to iMore! Make yourself at home and enjoy the site! You'll get used to not having that back button. There is a kind of back button on much of the iPhone. Check in the upper left corner as in this screenshot. This one goes back to mail.

Welcome to iMore. Despite what people say, We do have a back button. However, It's a gesture. Swipe to the right to get back to a previous screen.

I'm glad you really decided to come out of the dark and start using iPhone! Overtime you will find that Apple products seem to work better overall in comparison to their Android counterparts due largely to Apple making both the hardware and the software for its products. I was once an Android use and was upset that there was a back button on the bottom of the screen, I would constantly press it when reaching for items on the top of the screen. I love that Apple has only included the back button at areas where it's necessary. Additionally, you can always swipe right from the edge of your screen to perform the "back" function. This allows you to not accidentally press back. If you have a 6S device or newer you can even perform the same swipe motion with a little bit of force on the screen, I'll let you figure out what that does! Enjoy your new phone!

You don't need a back button. You can right swipe from the left edge of the screen plus a lot of apps have back buttons built in. The home button helps with navigation too. Don't go back to the dark side!
