MP3 players for teenagers

I’m looking for a MP3 player for Christmas for my 13 year-old cousin. What’s the best brands out there that are decent priced. I found this one yesterday but I wanted to double check with you guys and see what you thought. His parents won’t let him have a iPhone. Can they also be used with Spotify because they don’t subscribe to Apple Music

What about an iPod touch? It’s close to an iPhone without being an iPhone! It’s a bit pricey though…

his dad put restrictions in locked down his iPad. they just don’t want Internet capabilities
